Thierry Constantin owns a cellar and a tasting room in the village of Pont-de-la-Morge, a stone’s throw away from Sion. He holds vineyards totalling seven hectares, with the great majority in the municipalities of Sion and Vétroz.
Thierry is no less demanding in the care of his vines than he is in the choice of his plots. He strives at all times for strict control over his yields, believing this to be the surest path to a quality wine. In the cellar, he matures his wines with wise deference to both typical varietal character and the quest for structure, the goal always being complex wines that leave a distinctive impression.

Serge Roh SA

After attending the School of Viticulture and Oenology in Changins (VD), winegrower Serge Roh gained the title of Master in this field and now runs the family business.
Born in 1963, Serge Roh is a member of the generation of winegrowers who want to make the grands crus of Vétroz into a standard bearer for quality wines and, in particular, to promote the Amigne, a rich white wine with citrus aromas. Serge Roh has been vinifying a late-harvest Amigne (aged in oak barrels) since 1996, with a hint of mandarin on the nose and a marvellous balance in the palate.
Serge Roh owns almost one hectare of Amigne. He has also re-cultivated the Petite Arvine and the Humagne Blanche, two indigenous grape varieties that lift Valais into a class of its own.

Régence-Balavaud

La Régence-Balavaud is a young cellar that combines modernity of design, equipment and ideas with traditional winemaking and a respect for the authenticity of indigenous grape varieties.
Awarded the title of “Swiss cellar of the year” in 2016, La Régence-Balavaud showcases specialities from Canton Valais, such as Humagne Rouge, Petite Arvine and even Amigne – a wine famous for the bees on its label, and the pride of the village of Vétroz.

Domaine Jean-René Germanier

A family business, founded on a love of wine.
From his first harvest in Balavaud in 1896, Urbain Germanier was passionately devoted to his vineyard. Later, his three sons, Francis, Paul and Charles took the reins, and their wines went on to rank amongst the best in Valais. In around 1940, Francis Germanier decided to plant a type of dessert pear in the Rhône Valley known as the “Bon Chrétien William”, after its first cultivator. In 1945, a violent storm destroyed the entire harvest. In the face of this disaster, Francis decided to distil the fruit. The result was an eau de vie of extraordinary flavour and balance: it was the birth of the Bon Père William brandy and its iconic bottled pear! The brandy would rapidly become one of the canton’s most distinctive specialities. Spirits represented a significant share of the estate’s production for many years, although winemaking once again became the more important activity in the 1980s. Today, the third and fourth generations – Jean-René Germanier and his nephew Gilles Besse (both oenologists) – are continuing the family tradition in wine and spirits, still with the same passion, curiosity and high standards of quality. Their wines have earned them a place amongst the best wine producers in Switzerland, focusing particularly on local grape varieties and specialities from Valais’s unique terroir.
