Bonvin 1858 is the oldest winery in Valais. Founded in Sion in 1858, it has made a major contribution to the reputation of Swiss wines, particularly the Valais appellation d’origine contrôlée.
Bonvin 1858 cultivates 23 hectares of vines on the best slopes of Valais: south-facing terraced plots on dry calcareous-schist soils, which add an unmistakable minerality to the wines.
These exceptional locations – combined with the know-how that is present both in the vineyard, where integrated production standards are applied, and in the wine cellar with its state-of-the-art technical installations – explain the success of these wines, which certainly do their name credit. In 2014, Bonvin 1858 was honoured with the coveted “Winery of the Year” award.
