Since 1912…
Development – Progress – Fidelity
It was in 1912 that Joseph Bruchez first entered his cellar into the Canton Valais Commercial Register. After emigrating from his native Val de Bagnes, Joseph decided to market the vines he was growing, looking after those of the priory of Lens at the same time. He founded his cellar in Vaas, a little winemaking hamlet in the municipality of Lens.
His son Henri took on the family business in 1945 and continued to develop it until finally transforming it into a public limited company in 1963. A year later, on the strength of his company’s burgeoning success and growing renown, Henri built an annex that allowed him to increase his cellaring capacity.
In 1979, his son-in-law Guy Rey was named as manager of Vins Bruchez SA. Guy is completely at home with even the most modern technology, and has made significant improvements to the wine production process, all the while respecting cherished family traditions. His son Sébastien Rey joined the business in 2005, after studying oenology at the Haute école de Changins for two years.

For generations, the Rey family has made wine for its own consumption from its vines in the village of Corin. In 1981, Raymond Rey founded the Cave la Rayettaz, named after the location of the family home. From that point, he devoted himself full-time to cultivating his vineyard and selling his own bottles. In 1999 his son Christophe, a university-qualified winemaker and oenologist, took the reins of the estate.

The Cave St-Michel is a family-run winemaking estate that was founded in 1979.
Comprising six hectares of first-class slopes, it benefits from an exceptional terroir and a sunny location.
The dry continental microclimate, foehn wind, autumnal temperature changes and natural working methods all benefit grape maturation and the delicate aromatic quality of the wines.
The cellar, which is situated in the heart of the village of Corin, produces 15 AOC white, red and rosé wines.
A winemaker and an oenologist work with passion and age-old expertise to offer up wines of exceptional quality.
These are typical Valais wines, both elegant and authentic.

Not just a wine, but a piece of land…
Les Sentes? The Petit Robert dictionary defines a “sente” as a short path, much like the one that weaves through this vineyard in Sierre.
But the word also evokes the “scents” of the first buds, of ripe grapes or a precious wine.
It all started in Réchy, when Lucie, the mother, made a few bottles of her own wine. In 1985 she sold her first vintage. Serge was the next person to catch the winemaking bug, and set up what is now the Cave Les Sentes, where he has worked for nearly 30 years alongside his wife and their loyal colleagues.
The cellar, which is run as a family concern, is constantly adapting and improving. Its owners spare no effort to keep their customers happy. The five-acre winemaking estate is spread across the municipalities of Sierre, Crans-Montana, Veyras, Venthône and Miège.
It was the parish priest, Hermann Salamin, who laid the foundations for the building that hosts the Cave Les Sentes today. The charm of the original carnotzet was preserved during the reconversion in 1999, along with its old larch beams and large fireplace.
The cellar uses modern steel vats as well as wooden barrels to mature its wine. Traditional grape varieties are given star billing, as they are symbolic of the family’s history and its roots in winemaking. The wines on offer cover a broad range of indigenous grape varieties, including Rèze, the regional wine par excellence.
Welcome to the Cave Les Sentes, where wine is a shared discovery.
Cellar opening hours:
– Any day, if phoning in advance
– Every Saturday between 10am and midday
